Default Dash questions on installation and type

Looking to buy and install a new dash in my 2003 TXT PDS cart. In reviewing some dashes I see some mount right over the original? Do they all mount like this or are there ones you havetotake the entire dash off and replace?

Can you remove only the cup holder on the txt model I have?

Travis

You can remove the whole dash which requires the removal of the front cowl, or you can buy a dash cover which fits over it. The cup holder is the only removable part that removes without drilling out rivets.

This is a typical dash cover with a carbon fiber look in this case. Basically it snaps over the original dash and I thought the fit was very good. It is screwed on for semi-permanent installation but I put the screws in the bottom corners on the inside so you can't see them. It comes with the cutout for the key switch plate but other than that you will have to make your own holes for switches etc. if you have them. I found it to be sturdy and I made the cutouts with drills, dremmell and jigsaw (use a blade with a high tooth count). Problem free for several months now--no rattles or squeaks. The strips that run down to the floor board are extra.

On this model the left cubby door is smaller so it doesn't hit the steering column when open. Not all of them are this way.

One thing I don't like: the holes in the cup holder are smaller now and my preferred beverage container no longer fits.

These are available from site sponsors in various colors.

Is there a reason no one offers just glove box doors? I don't want a dash kit, but would love a pair of locking glove box doors that match the existing dash grain.
