Default Re: Digital Battery meter

I just ordered one of these kits from Scotty. So, all I have to do is run the positive from the key switch? There is already 36 volts present at the switch? There is a stereo installed in my cart that works off the key switch so I figured there must only be 12 volts at the switch but I have no idea as I have not taken the switch out yet to see how it's wired.

If you have a 3 position key switch, there are actually 2 switch circuits. A 36 and a 12 volt feed exists at the switch..... I could tell you which is which but it's better if you get your meter out and check it....

I pulled out the switch plate and it appears I only have a 2 position key switch. Whoever had this cart before me sure did some rigging. Everything I try to fix ends up being rigged instead of fixed correctly. Here's a pic of what I have...

Got my meter today and I was wondering was the best way to cut the hole for the battery meter?

By far, the easiest way is to get one of the trims available.

Just hold the meter up to the dash where you want to install it and trace abound it with a fine tip marker. Then cut out everything inside the square. Slip the trim onto the meter, put the meter in the hole and the push the clip onto the back. See the thread I linked above for more detail, Scotty
