Default Front axle swaps...

Of the two carts I have, I am thinking of swapping the front axle and steering between them.

The '94 Medalist has a real smooth and tight front end and the '96 TXT is a bit clunky and looser at the wheel.

My questions.....

Are the parts the same so they can be swapped?

What would be the simplest/best point to separate them from the cart.....looking for easy here.....

Are there alignment specs for these carts?

The reason for all this is simple...I am cheap and the '94 is only used by the wife for gardening, the '96 is mine and we run the neighborhood with it.

You may have 2 different shape/size axles. Check the spring mount bolt hole configuration & width ... also not the axle size and shape... they made a few.

Azpete,

if this is the steering assembly you need (this one is from a pre 2001.5 txt) i have this one for sale. it came as part of a parts lot i bought. I was told it was completely rebuilt. I dont need it and would sell it for a pretty good price. You wouldnt want your wife to not have her cart!!

PM me if you are interested.

Thanks on what to consider when investigating. I noticed from some parts places that they group the '94 - '01 as using the same lift kits and such.

I think I could swap the entire front suspension and steering between them. I would think the mounting locations for the suspension to the body would be the same on the 94 & 96.

I will keep the steering parts in mind but I am doing this low cost if possible. My thought pattern is if any cart got sold/traded for a better cart, it would be hers. This way, mine has the better parts for keeping. I am always watching for a deal on another two seater to swap hers for.
