I'm looking at sticking a cheap rear seat on my G1 and after reading here will be installing a set of Honda 400 EX front shocks on the rear of my G1.

They are supposed to be a direct bolt in and they are two inches taller than the stock shocks.

What about the front shocks, is there an ATV equivalent to Yamaha number J42-23350-00-00 - I put a lift kit on it and the OE shocks struggle a bit with the bigger tires !

look at the complete info in the link I posted, it will explains most every thing you should due. It is the most complete artical I have seen.

Going back to your question about the rear spring set up, the longer shocks will fit in the same location but it will raise the frame. This may require you to notch the frame below the primer drive. "look first jump second"

The front end is a hole different setup and requires a new bracket on the top of the shock to the frame.

ebay is a good place to look for shocks the last set I got was around $40.00 pulse shipping

Any 400ex shocks will work. Buy on condition. Those atv shocks get abused and often leak oil.
