Default Re: Coil overs on rear?

Polar Bear - I could have used the coil overs in the rear, but just replaced the shocks - only for cost. But my leaf springs are still there - nothings changed there. Had both springs and leafs in the back stock and could have done the coil overs but I didn't like that you couldn't see them if I did do it, and to make it stiffer wasn't necessary as I NEVER want a rear seat.

I may put a tow bar on it in the near future and get a little trailer, but it will always be a 2 seater.

I know you are currently working on your cart, are you thinking of doing all coils front and rear?

You would have to run a ladder-bar,3-link,or 4-link setup to locate the axles.Alot of us used to run a bar from the axle-seat where the leafs sit, forward to the front spring-hanger,then mount coil-overs.You will need a "Track-Locator" or "Panhard-Bar" to locate the rear, preventing side-to-side movement.Hope this helps.

I am planning on installing an axle with leaf springs then install coil over shocks also. It will be a four seater with the fold down tray option for tools etc. I also want to be able to tow as well. The picture shows what my cart had in it.
