Yes stay away from the pre 1980 stuff especially that three peddle club car. You can't get any aftermarket parts for them and few OEM parts either.
We suggest you choose one from the three major makers  |

CODY-- they do have some in FL if your willing to drive alil to get a cheaper good cart then that would be good.. but keep checking something will show up..

Little too far I think. Wouldn't mind the drive, but the gas would be another thing. Just have to look here in North Carolina or Virginia. Thanks

Hey guys and am now the proud owner of the 1979 club car, I have pics but not sure how to post them. It definitely needs batteries. Is there any way I can hook up 3 12v car batteries just long enough to see if it will run before I go buy new batteries. I have 3 vehicles here with batteries I can easily take out. I cleaned it up yesterday and it really looks pretty good for being that old. It has a silver forward/reverse switch under the seat, 4 solenoids and one larger box in the middle of those(controller)? Thanks

No, sorry no controller works with 4 solenoids. Yes. 3 car batteries will work for a test but, prolonged use will result in battery failure. Good luck

The box in the middle of the solenoids you refered to is probably a cover for resistor coils. Yes or No? Take the Carache (sp?) wiring diadram for this cart and study it until you know how the power travels thru the various control (switch) points. When you understand how it works...very simply replace the power pack with your car batteries for further tests. There is no shortcut, only step by step diagnostics. However, once you understand how the cart works you will see it is simple.
