new hub on 08 ezgo
replaced hub on 08 ezgo. the job was fairly easy. the old one was worn almost smooth. i believe it was worn when i purchased cart for it always made a popping sound when put in reverse. it does not do that now. the hub was a little costly. but better than an axle or motor shaft.
i live on a dusty road is it okay to wash off the batteries with baking soda and water. did not know about all the wiring and controlers getting wet. also i have conflicting info on charging batteries. do you charge all the time or just when the batteries are low. i have been charging after i use the cart and over night. i like to keep the batteries 80 percent or more. is this okay. i was told it was better to keep them on full charge. hot rod |

Re: new hub on 08 ezgo
Make sure you torque the axle nut down to between 90-140 FT pounds to get the cotter pin in. Not enough torque will result in hub beating itself smooth on the axle splines... also put a little anti seize on the axle spline to help take up any machining slop.
Your sock control is not water resistant so direct all spray away from the controller. After market controllers are usually water resistant, not water proof. Recharge after use, the batteries last longest if kept fully charged. |
