Ok thank you so much. The reason i am asking is because some of the wiring im looking at on the cart to the motor don't seem right but i am not sure. If you have time later and can tell me from the nice pic you posted of the f & r switch where each lead goes to maybe that will help me a bunch. Thank you again

Model # a8622 98135 club car ds 36 volt. Ok here we go. If your looking at the motor facing from the front of the cart there are 4 lugs in a row. We will call the first lug #1 so the first lug has a wire coming from b - main cable # 2 has wire coming from # 4 on your picture from f&r switch #3 goes to the #5 on your f&r switch picture #4 which is the lug on the motor furthest back goes to the main solenoid on the drivers side. So this is not even close. This cart ran fine then it burnt a post on a battery and now it's gone crazy.

Also # 3 on your f&r switch picture goes to the -neg. Side on the battery instead of the positive side.

you have a 1986 club car DS 36V built the 22 week of 1986

im afraid to say but you now have me confused ...

here is the wiring as i see it in a 1983 cart
labeled as seen in photo
#1 wire .. white .. goes to the solenoid pack (last one, reverse)
#2 wire .. black(stock green) .. goes to the #4 battery positive post
#3 wire .. black (stock red) .. goes to #1 battery positive post
#4 wire .. black .. goes to the A1 lug on motor
#5 wire .. red .. goes to the S1 lug on motor
A2 lug on motor goes to first solenoid
S2 lug on motor goes to the #6 battery negative post

this cable must go to a positive post... it is the power for the reverse
some people will put it to the #1 battery positive post for full 36v reverse from factory it is wired for 18v reverse

wiring is exactly as on the cart
i hand traced the wires and they are correct as in diagram
this is a photo of the motor from the 83 manual

S1 is on the bottom of motor and A1 is on top
please take a few photos of motor, batteries and f/r controller
