Callbob, a bandit motor upgrade is cheaper than a new motor. Roughly a $300 swap

well this certainly went sideways. My built 05 LJ takes me places a golf cart can't think about going. The carts I built were for running around the neighborhood or playing golf. This one is just a favor for the golf course I live next to. Thanks anyway

Update still need some direction
Brushes were fine. Put cart on jackstands and motor works in forward and reverse. put on ground no go without a flintstone push, then runs fine. Has alltrax controller SPM48300 that green light blinks when pedal pushed down then solid green when wheels are turning (on stands) Any ideas now?
Model number on cart is K0196 so assuming 96 year and series motor

The LED light should go orange at full pedal - this indicates it is receiving the full throttle signal.

Can you put a meter on the battery pack? Give us the standing still reading. Then with the wheels on the floor, try to go and read the meter. How low does it drop?

Please answer both questions.

ok just reread your post about battery pack. Will check that but still mystifies me that the cart will run fine and full speed once you push it off.

It takes more current (amps) to get it going than it does to maintain speed. I'm with ScottyB I suspect low voltage or bad battery.

that sounds plausible. I did clean cables but did not check amps yet. The batteries "appear" to look good and takes a charge and they are Trojans but will check amps tonite. Thanks

Check volts. You probably don't have anything to check that many amps. Check total pack and individual battery voltage. And if you can check the pack while pressing the throttle to see how much it drops.
