Running a 48v pack on 36v system.
I have a 97' electric club car, 36v, resistor /v-glide system. I plan on running a 48v pack on the 36v motor/wiring and just upgrading to a 48v solenoid and replacing the battery wires to 2ga welding wire. My v-glide mounting foot broke and is dislodged from the frame so I'll replace that anyway.
My question is, has anyone else done this and have you experienced any excessive heating in any areas with this method? |

Yeah , I don't know , the vglide melts at 36 volts sometimes , if it welds at wide open throttle , HOLD ON !!! ...if you don't post back we will assume the worst so , let us know...

If that Vglide melts in the wide open position I hope you have a long road or a steep hill to climb to run those batteries down.

It will go like stink for a little while, then melt down. How long it goes depends upon many factors and Murphy. If you go far from home Murphy will rule the day.

Melt the V-glide huh. Does anyone have a controller for sale?? Any other ways around it besides upgrading to a controller?

There is always the direct connection method with a single on off switch...
 You need to do a lot more research before you start buying components that may or may not work. |
