Default Ezgo 36 V TXT series car with intermittent running issues

My golf cart is intermittently working women forward but it’s not working at all when in reverse, battery charge is good, solenoid engaging when gas pedal is pushed. No movement at all in reverse and will go into forward and run intermittently. Good starting point?

I’d take a look at the f/r mechanism. There’s copper contacts in there that can wear down or the mechanism can get out of adjustment.

I’ve looked at it and no obvious signs of issues. I’ve made sure the middle nut is tight but problem persists.

I should say the beeper engages just no movement in reverse.

Likely need to replace FnR?

Did you take it apart and inspect it or just look at it? Also, when they’re not making good contact, they will get hot due to the copper lugs not lining up correctly. I had one catch on fire.
You can switch the cables at 9 and 3 o’clock and see if the cart then goes in reverse but not forward.

Mine was doing a similiar thing, would work ok for weeks and then stop, then work again?? I went thru every connection with a wrench. It ended up being a nut on one of the wires on controller. Was not "loose", but I could tighten it 1/4 turn. Have not had any problem since. Would not have found it had I not put a wrench on it.

No I did not take it apart, just a visual inspection of the outside of the switch. If I switch the cables at nine and three in the reverse works with the switch in the forward position that confirms it’s the forward and reverse?

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s a simple as a loose as when sitting in my garage on a concrete floor with no jarring wind or anything you click forward five times out of ten it will move forward and give it won’t. Won’t go in reverse at all.

Pretty sure it’s in the fnr assembly

Any other troubleshooting recommendations before I order a new forward and reverse? Anybody have any recommendations on a source for this part?
