Help-'82 DS wont move

Have a 1982 DS. Ran/ drove fine. One day the thing gets a mind of its own and goes full blast with 1/2 pedal, then wont stop with key off. Finally got it stopped by working f/r switch back and forth while key off. Now it wont move when pedal is depressed.

Lights, blinkers, horn, and reverse buzzer still work. Depress pedal and nothing.

I have searches the forum and came up empty other than check solonoid and micro switch. Currently looking at what these actually do (solonoid I know-microswitch I dont). Any ideas while I continue my search?

All testing should be done with at least one wheel off of the ground, period.


Re - read The first sentence!


Your main solenoid is welded shut, you need to replace it. Your micro (s) may be bad as well. They are safety switches. You have 5 solenoids~ the one closest to the drivers side is the Master, Replace it.
You have 5 micro-switches in a silver box at the end of the throttle linkage.... buy a couple or few and open it up... Replace the first few which are the ones the white slider activates first when it slides.

.............scotty is right replace the furthest left solenoid......and there are 5 micros in the silver box not solenoids but i think scotty knows that its just a mis-print.............................
