2004 G22E Controller Upgrade to Alltrax
I recently purchased a 2004 G22E that I was assured ran great. Of course I got home and it didn't. I replaced all of the batteries, f/r switch, key switch, accelerator safety switch, and solenoid. Solenoid does not click. I am assuming the controller (GE refurbished IC3645SH4V262Y1) is bad. I just want to confirm that I can just swap that one out with an Alltrax DCX400 (CON-DCX400G19) and not replace the motor (JU2-H1890-00)? And, do I need any special adaptors for the connections?

Yes and Yes. Dcx needs an adapter board to plug yamaha harness in. Dcx needs field map 8 installed to work with stock GE motor. If you are going with a 400a or larger model, better cables throughout will be needed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I found a controller online that comes with the adapter board. And I see from the posts, that I will need to get 4ga wires. Fingers crossed...
