20in tires and need more clearance help.
Installed a set of 20in tires on my 1994 Medalist and need about another inch of clearance in the front due to the wheels rubbing when I go over a bump.
Has anyone done the front springs over the axle to get a little more clearance? |

I have read on here that replacing worn out front springs sometimes will add back an inch or so. Maybe you have a bunch of spring sag.

Re: 20in tires and need more clearance help.
My brother put coil over shocks on his cart and gained the height needed for 20 inch tires.

I have a 94 marathon and just put on a 4 inch lift...and replaced the shocks with #31069 Monroe, but since I added 20 inch x 10 tires I needed my rim to be more offset so I added 2 inch spacers...now the tires rub the fenders...so I will just trim the fenders and put flares back on

Re: 20in tires and need more clearance help.
Instead of putting the frt leaf spring over the frt axle we ended up making a plate from 1/4in steel and bolting under the rear mount plate of the front leaf springs, it took care of 90% of the issue.
I need to get longer bolts and will add another plate to take care of the rest. The cart really likes the 20in tires. |

Re: 20in tires and need more clearance help.
I just built a '95 Medalist and I installed these coil overs all around and it did lift it up some. It was actually a little tough to get them in because I had to compress them a good bit to get them in place. Even had to use a ball joint fork to get them in on the rear. I can't tell you exactly how much it lifted the cart, but it DID lift it some. They are pretty stiff, but I had some sag in my front springs (leaned to the driver side pretty bad) and these took care of that. Hope this helps.

I don't know if this will help, on a complete custom build I used a stock txt front axle and made it into a 3 link setup.
