Series Controller or Batteries?
Good afternoon,
I was given a Club Car series 48v a little while ago. Apparently it was running when it was left to sit. The batteries were 0V. I revived the batteries enough for the automatic charger to do its thing. They held about 49v. The cart had enough power to make it up and down the driveway once. ~1/4 hilly mile. Before i replaced the batteries, i wanted to know the cart was ok besides that. I placed 4 newer 12v batteries out of my boat and camper. They read around 49v as well. The cart still has no speed to it and dies quickly. I jacked it up and measured only 21v coming out of the controller at full throttle. I've checked and cleaned the cables, the FNR switch, all of the limit switches, and the v-glide. I measure 48v to the controller, but cant get anything more than 21ish volts out of it. Am i missing something to check other than the controller itself? |

Re: Series Controller or Batteries?
measure the pack voltage when you have the cart jacked up or running in gear
it is quite possible to have a battery give a good voltage reading but drop way down under load.also make sure all the cables are clean and in good condition. poor or thin terminals will restrict current flow |

I started to go back and edit the first post. I've read voltage while driving it and the battery pack holds steady around 48v. I cleaned all of the cables with a wire brush and baking soda. |
