Default RXV 48v-12v Reducer/ No output.

Hi All,
RXV 2015, Recently purchased new batteries and the Ezgo dealer pointed out the after market headlights should not be wired to just the one battery. After researching here I decided to purchase the 10LoL 30 Amp voltage reducer and a marine fuse block so I can add further accessories.

My issue is after assembly is no power to fuse block once key turned on.
Green Switch wire to Solenoid, post with busbar.
Yellow + First Battery
Black - First Battery
Red to fuse block
Blue capped.

My limited diagnostic skills have included the following
Touch light connections direct to battery - They work.
Check yellow and black in of wiring harness with volt meter = 51v
Reconnect harness and test red output - Nothing but fluctuating mv readings.

Absolutely scratching my head and assuming I got a dodgy reducer. I paid good coin to have it shipped from the states via Amazon and the convoluted process of returning something 👿.

Much appreciate any suggestions I can do to further diagnose..

edit, removed switch wire from solenoid and connected directly to + battery, same issue 51v coming in, 83-103mV coming out. Checked 15amp inline fuse on converter side of harness and appears ok. hmmm the mind boggles.

You've to connect the reducer to entire batt. pack, yellow ( + ) first battery, black ( - ) last battery. Mv readings should be typical for the blue wire.

Thanks for the reply and appreciated. I don’t see how the negative to last battery would make any difference? My readings off blue are not available, it’s capped and not used. The readings I mention in my post are off the Red feeding the accessories.

As I posted, testing the harness pigtail I have 51v. I have mV at other end on Red.

Which reducer do you have. Might help to confirm wiring hookups

OP, ojo is right I think. If pos and neg are hooked to one battery your only getting 12 volts, need to hook negative to the end of the series to get 48 volt. That's how mine is. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Agreed, also as jneubig suggested please provide link to reducer you purchased so hook up's can be confirmed.

If that is the correct one it appears to be wired correctly.

Do you have 4x12v or 6x8v batteries? I assume 4x12v as you mentioned lights connected to one battery in your initial post..

Yes the reducer is the one ojo linked.
Cart is 4x12v. Main positive to main battery positive - battery with main positive lead back to controller,
Negative is last battery - battery with main negative lead back to controller.
The + and - are definitely not on same battery.

Thanks

Have you measured between Green and Black to ensure you are getting 48v with key switch on?

If yes I suggest you disconnect everything from Red positive out and measure between Red and Black to see if you have 12v. If not I would think you have a defective reducer.
