350 I believe is rated at 11hp. With this tweak, done correctly you should see 15.

Tony, tell us what you think you gained???

ok here is a question. besides the head what is different between the 295 block and 350... is it the bore? can you bore it and put 350 pistons in it? and buy the ss valves and v-springs and re jet carb up 2 sizes and be good?

Putting a 295 head on the 350 is a simple mod. Lap the valves install the springs in the head and bolt it on. Use the 350 head gasket. The 295 can be bored to a 350, unfortunately, the stroke is shorter and the deck would need to be milled a lot to be equal with the pistons. Meaning the pistons are too short and don't reach the top of the cylinder. You have to remove the engine and have a LOT of machine work done for about a 5 hp gain. My current setup is hard to determine HP. It's way rich and won't hit the higher rpm's (yet) It has a lot of punch and I need to careful when parking it. It goes 0-5000 rpm in a second then drops a hair. We have more plans for it......
Stock 350 have 160-180 psi the 295 head bumps it to almost 240 psi. If it's not ported the stock carb could probably be tuned to work. A lot of people have done the 295/350 mod.

My friend tried one of these.... we tried every carb, cam, fuel, & valve mod we could get our hands on without total satisfaction... finally sold it to somebody who thought they wanted to mess with it... Here is my Question: Can you direct me to a thread or a person who did this mod and is completely satisfied with the motor's performance for everyday use? A 'daily driver', if you will? Or is just a rat rod mod? I really am looking for information as I am about to completely rebuild a 350 for one of my carts and again thinking of how simple and nice this sounds but, wondering where are all the rave reviews?

48v is great in a 36v cart and the rave reviews are all over bgw... what about this?

I did this mod to my workhorse and it is WELL worth the price of admission,it has plenty of power to pull the four 25x11x10 Mudlites with the bed loaded on any of the hills I have around which are pretty steep & long,it will run approx. 30 mph on flat ground.I use it as a "daily driver" and am happy with the mod;sure I would love to have 23 horses instead of 15 but can't justify the $2K + to add a BB.I wouldn't hesitate to do it again especially if I already had the parts laying around

Mule, did you just slap the stock head on or what exactly was the extent of your mod? We may have done too much with a high lift cam and all?
