97 Ezgo lunges at start
Hi guys, I have a 1995 Gas Ezgo (EZgo Tuff1 utlity cart) twin cylinder four stroke golf cart with an electric dump bed. This cart sat for a few years at a golf course. I bought it and it ran and drove.....barely. After adjusting the valves, cleaning the carbs, new plugs, new voltage regulator and solenoid, it finally runs and drives like a top. Except that the primary clutch does not open all of the way out on its own. It will start, but it is moving the cart the whole time that it is trying. The belt was brand new and on the cart when I got it, and does not drop all of the way in, unless I open the clutch manually. I have taken it apart and cleaned the rods, checked the rollers, and everything is free and seems to be operating in decent working order. Are there any tricks to freeing this up? The bushing that the assembly slides on seems to have some play in it between the bushing and the shaft. Can this be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My common sense has gotten me this far...Now I need some professional help!!
Thanks guys, Jensen |
