Not hijacking this time mrgolf. Don't forget Sergio's note. You could make a "golf" switch which completes the sensor circuit while playing - and disconnects for road use. Oh....but you'd have to put the original resistor & solenoid back to keep from bumping your nose on pedal up. Did you keep them?
Edit: I assume Plum Quick doesn't remove the sensor/socket on Regen motors - just advises not to use it? |

Thanks for the offer. The main reason I took the 2 nd solenoid off was to save about 3 feet of battery cable voltage drop. I probably can't tell the difference, but I sure can see the cable is not as long.
I'll run the cart the way I have been, if I can't think of a way to make the roll away brake work. I'm thinking a seat switch could be used to unhook the speed sensor while on the cart. Then when I get off it would connect and make the roll away brake work. That's when you need it anyway. |

A seat switch is a very clever idea. Of course it would be just my luck to hit a big bouncy bump at top speed and kiss the approaching windshield!

Good point but I only use cart for golf. If I hit a bump that big it needs to stop.

Got the call from PQ my motor is on the way back. Should get it next week. Looks like my main cart will get new batteries again. The nine month old batteries will go in the cart I'm putting the motor in. I think it will be a stronger running cart. It seems the v glide has a quicker take off. I may have to put a head rest on to keep from snapping my neck.

I don't recall ever seeing a thread where PQ re-worked a Regen 1 or 2 motor before. Did PQ say that your rebuilt Regen 2 motor will make use of the speed sensor/regen circuit or (more likely) not-at-all?

They really didn't say that I recall. I know the regen braking is out. I guess they assume I will unhook the speed sensor. I'm sure they have instructions in the box with the motor. I just hope they left the magnet on the motor. I can hook a seat switch to one of the wires on the speed sensor to keep it from working when driving cart. Then when I get off the sensor would allow the roll away braking to work.
Anyone have an ideal which wire on the speed sensor would be best to use for the switch. Other wise I will just experiment. |

I would put the on/off switch on the black wire (negative), that would be safest way not to cause damage to the controller in case the switch would accidentally touched another wire.
