2009 RXV Charging issue
My 2009 RXV runs fine. My issue is I charged it over night. It was blinking green for 3 to 4 hours and then the charger started blinking red. There was a sulphur smell in my garage. The cart always charged fine and water levels are good. Any idea what could be wrong?

Re: 2009 RXV Charging issue
The charge started blinking green fast then went to a slow green blink then went to a red flash two or three times paused then two to three times again. The water in the batteries were still boiling when I just checked. It has been disconnected from the charger for about 45 minutes.

Re: 2009 RXV Charging issue
Battery age? And are they all the same age? Look for a stamp date code on a battery terminal ( B3 means Feb 2013). Could also post some "at rest" voltages (12 hours after charging), and "on charge" voltages (while green light is flashing quickly, when batteries are near full, must be on charge for at least 15 mins). It actually sounds like charger is working, but batteries may have a problem.

Re: 2009 RXV Charging issue
The batteries are all 2011. I checked the batteries and they are all fine (with gauge). It does look like the batteries "boiled over". But the water levels are fine and I have charged them at least 5 times since I filled them.

Re: 2009 RXV Charging issue
Ok, batts "just fine", what "gauge" was used? On-charge voltages might help us more...

Re: 2009 RXV Charging issue
I think it's possible the charger went into an equalization charge. Can last for hours.

Re: 2009 RXV Charging issue
I know the yamaha "moric" charger does "equalization mode", i dont think the ezgo QE does.

Re: 2009 RXV Charging issue
Update: brought cart to the shop and they tested all batteries. Everything checked out. one thing I just noticed is that my son plugged the charger on a power strip. I am going to run it a lot tomorrow and try to recharge tomorrow plugged directly into a socket this time. Hopefully that is the issue.
