Need help with 2009 RXV Project
I'm looking into installing a 3" jake lift and heavy rear spring (rear seat) 22" tires. Is this an alright plan? I understand I be losing some torque with the bigger tires.
I use it on hills and having the torque is important. Do I need to install a different controller or is there away I can get more torque out my existing 48V controller |

Re: 2009 RXV Project
The RXV stock (with acceleration set to "high") actually does pretty good on most hills with larger tires. There is one exception to this, you must keep it moving while on that hill. If you stop, you will likely have to go back to the bottom and start again. The AC motor just doesnt make the "zero rpm torque" that a series motor does. You do have a couple other options tho. Someone on here found gears for a "jacobson" outdoor equipment that was a higher neumerical ratio (better for hills) that fits in a rxv axle. The other option is ezgo's 350a controller upgrade, i have done one of these and it works great, but it costs over $1k. There are no aftermarket upgrade options that i know of yet for rxv.

Re: 2009 RXV Project
Thanks the help. Will a dealer make the program change? If you rent a hand held programmer do you need to pass code to get into it?

Re: 2009 RXV Project
The dealer can do it. You also could do it. The only time any "code" is needed is to unlock 19mph "freedom mode" on a slow "fleet" cart. A 2009 model used a Danaher controller, so be sure to get the programmer for Danaher controller if you decide to try it yourself.
