Re: 88 Gas 2PG wont stay running
Okay so now I feel like an idiot, There is apparently a genius out there, goes by the name of crash!! IT RUNS!!!! I removed the muffler and it will now run. I guess it must be plugged creating to much back pressure. Is there a way to clean out the muffler or do I need to start looking for a new one?? One more problem I now have is my gas tank has a leak, Anyone got a used one out there they want to sell or know where I can buy a new one. I have searched the web and so far no luck. Will a newer model tank fit in the same spot?? Again all thank you so much for your patience and help. You are life savers and maybe now my kids will get off my butt!!

Re: 88 Gas 2PG wont stay running
I sir am no genius, I too have learned alot from the guys here. I just got lucky and posted it first.
You can actually "cook" your muffler in a fire pit to burn all of the carbon and oil residue out of it. Build a fire , get the coals hot and chunk it in the middle, I've never done it so not sure how long it takes but be ready for a couple of hours I think. Several of the real geniuses here do it and know more about it so hope they will chime in. Have you checked ebay for the tank? might get lucky, we do have a for sale and parts wanted area toward the bottom of the home page. put out some feelers and maybe???? Glad you're up and running again and Welcome to BGW!! (pssst!, watch out for that scottyb fella!!) |

Re: 88 Gas 2PG wont stay running
GSCS85,
I too have an 1988 gas. My fuel tank was missing on mine when I got it. I ordered a new tank from John at golfcarcatalog.com great guy and good prices. I don't think you will find the tank on his website but give him a call. If you need a muffler I think he can get that also. Good Luck |
