Just curious...sorry to interrupt...
Was wondering...if money was no object...would a hydraulic system be another option?...I think a 13 hp honda would be enough to power a pump with enough GPM to run a reversible motor with enough torque...just curious...

I have not seen that done here yet. That would be cool, and would eliminate chain/belt issues. Picking the right pump/motor ratio would be critical. Could have a variable displacement pump. Only question is how to allow the motor to idle & cart to sit stationary when not pressing the gas.

FWIW...Lots of the zero turn mowers etc. are all hydro...they have drive motors on each wheel...

Yea, maybe could rig up something off an old garden tractor? Don't know how you could get much speed out of it? They are sitting all over cheep or free with blown engines!
