Default Pre charge failure XCT500

Ok guys got the xct controller hooked up and turned the key on and I have 1green light and 6 blinking red lights. This is telling me I have a pre charge failure and im not sure what that is. I have a brand new battery pack and I have not got the chance to charge them yet and was wondering if this could be the problem. Also looking for a new 48 volt charger if someone has a good deal on one.
Thanks

Xct cannot use a precharge resistor on the solenoid. Try that first.

You're getting the error code before the solenoid clicks?

What is the voltage between the main + and - terminals on the battery pack?
What is the voltage on the controller's B+ terminal?

Until the solenoid clicks, the voltage on the XCT's B+ terminal will be slightly less than the battery pack voltage.

I'm pretty sure the XCT pre-charges the filter capacitors via J1 Pin-5, which is wired to the battery side large terminal of the solenoid.

I'm not sure what the trigger point is for the pre-charge error , but on my 42V system, B+ on the controller is about 0.5V less than the voltage on Pin-5.

Like CG says, remove the pre-charge resistor on the solenoid if there is one.
Note: There ought to be a diode between the larger solenoid terminals as well as a diode between the smaller terminals.

Hey Johnnie this is a brand new 400 amp solenoid and controller and the manual says it could be a stuck solenoid. It is brand new and just installed and since my battery pack has not been charged could this be the problem.
