Default 1996 ezgo 36v

Just acquired a 96 ezgo txt 36v. Got new terminals new solenoid and fixing to install new f/r mechanism. Is it a common problem for f/r mechanical switch to prevent the unit from moving? The solenoid clicks but that's it, checked all the other connections from the controller and but connections hoping f/r mechanism fixes it. Reading through this forum got me where I'm at now. I appreciate it
