DPI Gen IV Accusense (no OBC) - Winter charging
Hi Guys,
Long time no post! I just tucked my OBC bypassed 06 CC Precedent in for the winter in garage. I left the DPI charger plugged in, pack is charged, and green light on. Will it monitor the pack as it slowly discharges on its own and kick in when it needs to? I keep hearing that the float mode is no longer and there has been so many different views on DPI as of late. My pack (6xT875) is new this past summer so want to make sure I keep it in top shape. Also - tried to get the equalization mode to kick in but no luck. I held the mode for 10 secs or more but nothing happened. Any ideas? - Gazoo |

The maintenance mode of the DPI will and if the charge drops low enough before maintenance it will cut it back on to charge.

Re: DPI Gen IV Accusense (no OBC) - Winter charging
I have T875 batteries.
I got this from DPI... "Ah, We didn’t have documentation for a flooded version of T875, my apologies. For the flooded version, I’d suggest Mode 6 (switches 3 and 5 to the right). And this should bear for the T-890 as well, as that seems to be the standard setting for Flooded Trojan batteries. We do have an extensive list under the technical section on our website, should you wish to find settings for other makes" XXXXXXXXXXXXXX, Warranty Department Clerk DIVERSIFIED POWER INTERNATIONAL, LLC 414 Century Court Piney Flats, TN 37686 423-538-9002 FAX: 423-538-9202 E-Mail: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

What I was referring to about the DPI Mode dip sw might not be correct is. The sw is labeled upside down. Switch 5 is on the top and switch 1 is in the bottom. So in your case the top and middle sw should be flipped to the right. Hopefully this is why it won't go into the equalization mode. I've attached a picture to show the proper orientation. If you had the bottom and middle to the right you would be set for AGM batteries. No harm you just can't do an equalization charge on them.

Holy smokes. I didn't know that. I assumed it was top (1) to bottom (5)
Thanks so much! Thankfully no harm done... - Gazoo |

Ok, I put the top and middle dips to the right. I held the mode button for 10 seconds and released. The red power flashes, while charged light remains green, but thats all it seems to be doing - It hasn't powered up and the gauge hasn't moved. Maybe its analyzing things before it kicks in?
