You found the problem.

The cart will run without the resistor for a little while until You find one

Just to be clear, remove that wire and make sure the cart does 19mph+.

You will need a 470Ω resistor there in order to prolong the life of the Solenoid.

I just took the wire off and ran it. It went 15mph based off of my phone GPS which beats the heck out of the 8mph I had before!
I will track down a 470 resistor and get it on there!

I certainly appreciate everyone’s help and time with this!

You can get 15mph with the stock 8 pole magnet, You sure the 4 pole speed magnet is installed?

I’m almost positive I didn’t get them mixed up. I have the old one, the one that came with my speed sensor kit, and my high speed.
Can one tell by looking if it’s high speed or not?

Get a small magnet and move it around the perimeter surface of the Motor magnet (like the thread surface on a tire).

The Regular Motor Magnet (8 poles) will attract the magnet 4 times and repel it 4 times as you go all the way around it.

The Speed Magnet (4 poles) will attract the other magnet 2 times and repel it 2 times as you go all the way around it.

I just checked all 3 magnets that I have and the high speed is definitely installed. I ran it again and it eventually gets to 16mph but just kinda hangs between 14-16mph. I’m not complaining but 20+ would be cool!
What else could I check?

I went to my local golf cart shop and grabbed a resistor but I’m thinking it might not be a 470?

This is the correct resistor, except you bought the DS (or 2008+ Precedent) version of it with ring terminals on it instead of blade terminals. Just bolt it to each of the solenoid terminals instead of plugging it into the wires where the OEM would go. As long as you link the two solenoid terminals together with the resistor it's fine. Make sure you discard that piece of wire that somebody used in place of the factory resistor though.

Awesome, that’s what I needed to know! Thank you TahoeDawg!
I’ll be sure to throw that jumper wire in the trash.
