Default Battery pricing - capitalism? or am I missing something?

I'm seeing T875 batteries vary in price by almost $700 for a set ...

Vendor near me offers T875s for $765 and on-line retailers are upwards of $1500.

I'm sure the $1500 figure includes core charge, shipping and probably cables. Doubling the price just seems like a lot.

Is a T875 a T875? or are their nuances I'm not recognizing that justifies the cost?

Pretty sure that's core charge and especially shipping costs. Some people don't have a local battery source. Some people just don't care what they cost.

Also, prices vary widely by location.

Weight is the significant cost for on-line due to the exuberant amount when multiplying by 6.... But there are those in remote places that have no other choice.

I get location plays a role. But double the price?

700 bucks buys a lot a fuel.

Have you ever lifted one of these things? Pick one up. Build a container for it. Then ship it somewhere. I think you will understand after that.

I'm surprised shipping isn't more than the cost of the battery.

I'm guessing 70-80lbs each?

Motorcycle batteries are shipped dry and in shock absorbing cardboard boxes. The acid is in a separate plastic container. I don't see why these batteries can't be similarly handled individually.

Oh well ... guess I'm lucky the above mentioned vendor is only 3 hours away.

I’d be very surprised if more than a handful of people actually order their golf cart batteries online…

Ordering Batteries on line males as much sense as a mail order bride.....they look good in the picture but cost twice as much as a bucked tooth country girl.

Oh come on thats funny.....Enjoy the blessing....

Yes that's funny - but seriously think about shipping a set of batteries. 1st of all they have to be shipped wet. They will need to be pallet-ed, kept upright, not stacked, sent by freight truck. And they are Haz-mat. Hundreds of dollars for shipping sounds about right
