Default Power drive 3 Charger

Will a Power drive charger work on a non OBC cart? I have removed the OBC on my 2012 Precedent and went with a Summit charger, will my old Power Drive 3 work without the OBC?

All Powerdrive chargers require the OBC to function properly. The charger is the mule, and the OBC is the smarts of the operation.

Cool thanks. I was scared to even try it on my cart since removing obc , upgrading to an altrax and new batteries.

Correct me if I'm wrong Fairtax4me but, to my knowledge, the charger will still charge but doesn't have any smarts to know when to switch off (that's done by the OBC). So if you were really stuck you could use someone's PowerDrive3 to put some charge into the batteries of a cart with a bypassed OBC so long as you monitored it and switched it off manually after a few hours. At least that would work to get you home.

Right. It will function... just not exactly how it needs to properly charge.
WIthout the OBC a Powderdrive charger is just a power supply. It will do a bulk charge on the pack, which is just enough to bring the charge level up if really needed. But it's not going to do a complete charge through all the proper phases of the charge cycle. And if you leave it on it's own it will cook the batteries beyond use.
