Default Just another trouble shooting help post...

Hey what’s up, I recently picked up this 2008 Carryall 2 that I’m not really sure where to start with getting it going.

I put new Trojan batteries in it, turned the key on and when I hit the throttle nothing happens in either Forward or Reverse.

No reverse buzzer

No solenoid click

It is a 48v car.

It has a Curtis 500A controller model 1520-5501

The cars serial is QB0837-952534

Thanks for the help on this one.

With the reverse buzzer not working it sounds like the OBC has got the controller locked out. Read up in the Sticky section on how to bypass the OBC. If it's bad you will be better off to get a new charger than replacing the OBC.

Copy that. I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Bypassed the OBC and she’s a runner!

Buuuuuuut only at like 1/4 throttle. You hit anything past that and it turns off.

WE’RE MAKING PROGRESS!! hahaha

Now I need to do some more research on why it’s doing that.

Well I put a paper clip into the plug on the MCOR that has two wires and still does the same thing but with more RPM. I’m at a stand still. I’m not sure what to test next so I can order some parts.

Do the speed sensor test. Push the cart while in run position and see if the cart beeps or gives resistance.

It failed that test.

Picking up a speed sensor and magnet today. Wish me luck!

Since a speed sensor failure cannot cause the cart to stop, perhaps your batteries are also discharged (which will cause the cart to stop under load) if you were having OBC problems.

Batteries are brand new, fully charged, and tested to be good.
