Default 2014 RXV - Steering Column Squeak

Squeaks with any and all turns of the wheel. I spent time browsing other posts claiming similar issues - and also reviewed the service manual but still seeking guidance. I believe the bushing near the top of my steering column right under my steering wheel is the culprit. However I can’t figure out how to get it out to replace or service it. I got the wheel off but not sure where to go from here. Does the entire column need to come off...if so, how? Appreciate and advice!

I haven't done this....but I plan to put some oil around the top of the bushing. That may just be a temporary fix, but I just wanna get it thru hunting season.

Well, it’s worth a shot. Will give it a try. Hopefully there’s someone out there with more suggestions as well. Thx!

You have to replace the whole column if that bearing goes bad.

The entire column? I'm far from an expert....but the schematics https://www.ezgogolfcartguide.com/re...-and-steering/ "seem" to suggest that the top bearing is replaceable.

Plus you can purchase a steering column bushing https://www.golfcartking.com/ezgo-st...olumn-bushing/ from a supplier.

Again.....I'm likely "all wet" when it comes to this.....but hey.....just asking. "Inquiring minds wanna know" :)

I've had to replace the steering column before for that bearing going bad. I have cleaned out the bearing and worked in some white lithium grease to help a squeak before also.

How did you get the bearing out to clean it and work the grease in?
