Default 1997 EZ Go - Won't go

I now have my sister's cart in my shop. When you press the gas pedal, you can hear the solenoid click...but nothing else happens. The cart will not move at all. I have replaced the solenoid, but still nothing happens. The terminals on the batteries are clean, and tight. I have 38.8 volts total and all batteries check good with a load tester. Can anyone help me to know where to check or what to check for her? The numbers on the cart are MGF Code J2597, Serial # 1046869. Thanks in advance...

Is this a Series cart or a DCS cart?

DCS I think. It does not have any resistors. it has the inductive throttle.

Is there a toggle switch on the controller cover?

Is there a steel rod running from the F/R control to an assembly under the passenger seat?

yes. all the batteries are in the middle of the care, the F-N-R switch assembly, the solenoid and controller are under the passenger seat.

Sounds like the reed switch is fried... That is the little "flag" switch coming from the battery plug in... It will be under the driver's seat where the cord plugs into the cart leading to the battery array.

I fried mine. see if you can bypass it with a regular wire and if the cart starts.

That switch is magnetic and tells the cart not to move while it is charging. Fry that and the cart won't move. I have mine bypassed because I didn't want to spend the $50 to replace. Just remember to unplug the cart before driving off.

Yes it is in the battery compartment. It should be a wire with a little plastic "flag" coming off of the plug receiver. It is magnetic and very easy to short. Remove that and use a wire to bridge the connections. If the cart moves your switch is gone.
