Default Bought a 91 yamaha cart today

My next project later this winter is a, I think 91 G9 (?) gasser. I have a couple question. Can anyone tell me what the size of the engine is,CC wise, what the bore and stroke is and are these a dedicated golf cart engine or was this engine used for-on anything else.
Thanks

The G2 and G9 engines are 285 cc with a 73 mm bore and a 68 mm stroke. The engine is all Yamaha built, and is specifically made for these carts. There's lots more info in the sticky titled "G2-G9 Specifications" at the top of this section.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the project! What are your plans for it?

Thanks Jason, I was going by the serial number and it came up as a 91. Did they still make the G8 in 91?
