Default G2a not charging

My dad has a 1988 g2a with 4 stroke gas motor, he said put a new starter/ generator on it and a new voltage regulator on it and still not charging. Any ideas. Thanks in advance

Does your battery still accept a charge? Could be too old. Also, check the wirings from starter gen to voltage reg. With a new starter and a new VR, there should be no reason other than what I mentioned above.

Yeah the battery takes a charge. That's how they have been running it is putting on a battery charger every few days to recharge, he's been going over the wiring diagram but said he is only seeing one of two fuse links that's in the diagram,

There are 3 wires that go to the VR. One is Ground (which should be grounded), One is green that goes to the starter gen (DF) and one is red that goes to a live source.

the red to a live source , is that a 24-7 live or live when running. i think hes went over the wires and every thing else so far now think it might be a broken wire, mabey he needs to start replaceing wires?

The live source is the "red" side of the solenoid as opposed to the grounded terminal. It only activates when yu start the cart.
