Scotty, that is a 5k-0 pot.... which is why the upgrade for it is an MCOR setup.

I converted my cart from the pot you have to a MCOR and in the process wired the micor according to the Club Car diagram. The result was as you pressed the pedal the car went from flat out to slow indicating a 0 - 5K pot.I checked against another MCOR cart and changed the wiring, result is now slow to fast as it should be.(5K - 0).All I can work out is that as the pot is a 3 wired device and in the 5K - 0 the sweeper is positive and adjacent to negative at rest and moves towards source positive as you accelerate. If you reverse the source positive and negative you reverse the situation creating a 0 - 5K pot. Sounds too simple to be true but if not why not

this is correct. a pot when used in this manner is acting as a voltage divider. as a example, lets say there is 5V on the pos & neg wires. turning the pot will result in a voltage on middle terminal (wiper) that swings from 0V to 5V. swapping the pos & neg wires will result in a voltage on the wiper that swings 5V to 0V.

Okay Rabbit that confirms what I thought on about my second post.... I don't know if the original poster is still following this but his Smokin Deal 0-5k controller will work with this cart. Hope he reads this.
