Microswitch wiring for 1/2 Speed Rev???????
I'm stumped. Finished the complete cart overhaul and everything works perfectly. Now it's time to hook up 1/2 speed reverse and I have no freak'n clue! Tons of microswitch wires and no diagram for wiring with F&R. I'm using a Curtis PB-6 pot box and a Alltrax 4855 controller that has one spade for a 1/2 speed rev wire. I believe one of the three switches is for a buzzer (which I don't need). Can someone explain to me in elementary, and I mean elementary terms, the most simple way to hook the 1/2 speed rev microswitch the a Alltrax 4855? I've already turned on the 1/2 speed rev using the Alltrax programming software...just need to know how to hook up the wires from the F & R. Thanks is advance for any help and guidance!!! Much appreciated!

Re: Microswitch wiring for 1/2 Speed Rev???????
First of all do you really need to go 1/2 speed in revese? Most owners eliminate that and the alarm ( which I dont like ) as you are open to a law suit?
For an example of stock micro wiring go to golfcartsdirect.com then go to something like 2000-2005 Ds and look at bottom of page under wiring. |

Re: Microswitch wiring for 1/2 Speed Rev???????
When you have the cart in reverse look at the F/R cam and see which one has the power going through it. Hook a wire from there to the connection on the controller. That was simple enough right?

Re: Microswitch wiring for 1/2 Speed Rev???????
Thanks OLD MEC...I'm ok with full speed rev, just concerned about others like my wife and kids. I'll check out the diagrams...thanks alot for your help!
Kidder...not sure which brand of HD F&R...came in a plain white box with no info. If it helps, it has three micros on the back...not sure if you can see the first one in the picture. Andy 4639...that was my next step...to start plugging and testing. I guess one of the wires is for the hot in and another for the hot out, but there's a third and it looks like a ground or neg? I just don't want to burn something up. Will probably check out the diagrams before I go experimenting. Thanks for all your help!!! |

Re: Microswitch wiring for 1/2 Speed Rev???????
I agree with you if have children I would opt for 1/2 speed reverse also, better safe than sorry. Lets face it 10-13 MPH in reverse can be very dangerous?
