Default 1998 G16 Just Repaired - Need Advice

I just had the Transaxle repaired (due to my kids), but it has been sitting in the work shop for 8 months now. Should I replace the old gas and should I clean the carb. before trying to start it?

I'd just look it over pretty good and if everything seems ok, hit the trails.

Topping off the fuel tank with fresh fuel and maybe a shot of fuel stabilizer wouldn't hurt either.

If you want to take the bowl off the carb and clean it out, then put it back on. Often the fuel ages better in the tank than in the carb. I never have a problem leaving my cart for half a year over winter, I never drain anything except some lawn equipment I drain the carbs. I don't use any additives either, but have in certain things that were sensitive to bad fuel. Some of those I put premium in the last tank before winter. Fuel loses octane so of course premium lasts longer. I had some performance 2 stroke outboards, those I drain all the fuel out, or any performance engines or highly stressed engines. Mostly I try to get that stuff out early and run it and get new fuel into it. I don't know maybe in warmer climates the fuel goes bad faster. Things tend to stay good when frozen lol.
