The two round things on the heatsink are diodes and they make a halfwave bridge
short answer they make DC from AC

do yourself a favor and do a little reserch and a little shopping.....don,t go and buy the 1st thing that looks ok....and remember because 1 person likes it dosn,t mean your going to.....in my honest opinion i think you should stay as close to the charger that your cart calls for at least see what your charger runs new......these chargers were designed for golfcarts thats why thats all you can use it for on the other hand some of the chargers out there for sale arn,t designed for golfcarts although they will work............if the charger for your cart is to expensive just try and stay as close as you can even if it means finding a good used one....................................

Yes I do sell that charger new. The one you linked to on ebay is a repaired unit. I have spoken with that guy.
