How to remove beverage holder?
Do you just dig it out with a screwdriver?

Re: How to remove beverage holder?
That's what I did. Screwdriver and pocket knife. Be very careful and do it slowly. The side closest to the dash is the most difficult. It is easy to break because it is thin. Before I re-installed it, I shaved the tabs down considerably. I can now just give a firm tug upwards to remove it and access my fuse box and winch contactor.

Re: How to remove beverage holder?
Thanks kab,
I wondered because my golf-cart guy left quite a few gouges on the back by the dash when he removed it. It would have been nice if he had shaved down the tabs. I'll do that myself if I ever have to remove it. Thanks. |

Re: How to remove beverage holder?
Flintrock,
The guy that put the lights on my cart, put the light switch in an impossible to reach spot, without taking alot of the front of the cart apart. Someone here suggested accessing it through the opening where the beverage holder is. That worked, so I wanted to know how to remove it myself, if I ever needed to get to the back of the light switch again. |

Re: How to remove beverage holder?
Because it's the most logical place to stow fuse boxes and connections that need to be kept dry. Not every cart on the board is a fair weather show pony. Some of us work them regardless of weather conditions, and we need our accessories to function when required.
I would like to see one of the accessory manufacturers offer a hinged lid that replaces the cup holder. Unfettered access to that huge void under the dash would be a huge plus for some of us. |

Re: How to remove beverage holder?
I was just kidding there guys....my cart is no show pony! I made a hinged plate that bolts on top, to the keep fuse holder relatively dry.......don't have any finished pics, just used a graphite look applique.

That area behind the cup holder is also a great place for mice to make a home! Taking the cup holder off more easily would help with my mouse patrol!

Re: How to remove beverage holder?
Ok, dumb question maybe; but are there 3 tabs up under the rectangle EZ-GO warning sticker and 3 tabs facing the seat about 1/4 way down from the top edge? Do you pry the ones closest to the seat and lift that part up or are the tabs under the entire cup holder assembly and you lift that whole assembly up?

Re: How to remove beverage holder?
Mine came out right side to left side, not front to rear.
