Timed with a stopwatch over a measured distance on level ground and is repeatable. Same top speed with one or two people on board. Mild Hill PDS mode is 15 MPH on a GPS. I don't use Steep hill and All Terrain modes. FWIW: The PDS controller limits motor RPM according to the modes it is in, Freedom mode being the highest max RPM. With a PDS controller, increasing tire diameter and/or changer differential gear will increase speed, but loose torque. With aftermarket controllers that don't limit the motor RPM, PDS carts get into the low to mid twenties at 36V on stock diameter tires. |

Re: whats your average speed
My TXT Shuttle (36v) came with a 400amp curtis speed control and a 1.87 Kw(2.5hp) series wound motor. Cart would make 17mph on original stock tires at 20psi measured by GPS. Now on 205/50x10 (18.07") diameter tires, HD F/R switch cam, 4ga wires and a GE D297 motor makes 20mph under the same conditions. Between the switch, wires and motor I also have a small increase in torque. Cart is relatively heavy with rear seat, long roof, heavy duty springs, separate 12v battery etc.

Re: whats your average speed
2007 PDS all stock except for Scotty's 2ga cables, and 23" All Terrain's.
Over 4 year old batteries, GPS says 19, seems faster than that. |
