'95 Club Car won't move F or R
Just replaced the six batteries in '95 Club Car. Cart operated for one round of golf. Next attempt the cart would not move forward or reverse. Batteries are fully charged.
When placing the FNR switch in gear and hitting the gas pedal, notice a "bump" in movement but not each time. Mechanic came to repair, but said the cart was operating fine. However, noticed the FNR switch was a little tempermental, had to find the sweet spot. Mechanic has "not had time to check it out" again. No wires appear to be broken or disconnected. I did remove the FNR switch to make sure all connections looked okay. I'm wanting to hear from you guys what it may be! FNR switch? Solenoid? |

Welcome to BGW.
When you had the F/R switch apart did you happen to sand/file the contacts? Try that and report back. |

Thanks for the tip! I thought of that, but they looked clean. I'll give it a try.

Re: '95 Club Car won't move F or R
I wound up taking the cart to the shop. They discovered it wasn't the switch or the solenoid. Turns out it was the "computer"...didn't know it had one. Who woulda thunk it? Especially for a 1995 model. But apparently it tells the charger when to shut off and if it has gone bad can mess up other things.
All said and done spent $215. Works fine now. |

Re: '95 Club Car won't move F or R
thats why i asked if you tried the charger...............95 they are famus for the OBC going out on them.........did he put an upgraded OBC in? if he did than your battery light should be orange now instead of red and there should be a new gray wire coming from the back of the charge receptical under the seat...............if not than he might have used old stock and you could go thur this again............................................. ..

Re: '95 Club Car won't move F or R
Thanks guys! I have the gray wire (which is new) coming out of the receptacle along with a nice yellow in-line housing. Not sure it's worth $217, but it works/

Re: '95 Club Car won't move F or R
Is there a way to correct this problem via bypassing the computer all together?
