Default want to paint my top

Who has painted their top and what did you use and is it holding up? I was looking to paint my top black( tan now) but I heard that not much sticks to it and after a little time it starts to peel.

I painted the top on my old Yamaha with rattle can. I sprayed it with an Adhesion promoter it did help. The only place it really flaked off was on the front edge from being on the trailer on the highway. And because it was orange and eventually faded it was in possible to touch up.

The ez go roof was white and stuck out like a sore thumb so this time I went with the bed liner in a spray can with hope that I can touch it up or just recoat the whole thing now and then one can covered it pretty good get two just in case

Maybe try some Krylon Fusion (rattle can) which is made to bond to plastic. I have painted outdoor furniture and plastic planters with it and it holds up well.

Last summer I also painted some outdoor plastic storage boxes. I got some bonding primer and painted them with that first then a coat of a good acrylic latex. I can't remember the brand but I got it at Lowes. They have been out in the weather for about 8 months now and still look like new.

I sprayed my with the Rust-Oleum rattle can for plastic. That was about 3 months ago and it is still holding up fine. I used about two - three cans for both sides to get good coverage because I was painting over a dark camo pattern with a light grey.

I used bed liner on mine. I like it and it should last a long time. I'm thinking about putting a little clear coat on it to create a little shine and make it easy to clean.

Have you looked at just buying a new one. They go for around $100.00 around here. By the time you have the paint and labor into it , it will work out about the same :)

I cleaned mine up and rubbed it down with degreaser and sprayed Flex Seal on it. Looks good and is holding up the heat and the tree branches just fine!

I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to try Plasti Dip (rattle can) on mine. I have a few little cracks in my top and I'm hoping it will seal them up.
I have the stuff, just haven't had the time.

I used rustoleum plastic primer and rustoleum truck bed liner paint from Lowes and it looks great.I have done 6 nowand they hold up against tree branches real good. If it does scratch just spray a little black paint on it.Cost about 20.00 bucks.
