Default Getting new batteries

Hi Folks;

I am new to the forum and have a question. I am getting new Interstate batteries for my 2005 Ez Go cart. The original batteries are 7 yrs. old. Is there a proper way to break the new batteries in? Should I let them discharge way down or run them a little and recharge? This cart has a "gas gauge" to let me know the state of charge. In the past I would recharge when the guage was at 1/2 "full".

Thanks for any help you may have.

i dont have the link dorectly but use the search engine, you will find some wisdom indeed. I have already read up and am in the buying new batteries mode as well and will have to re-find the link for myself, but I do remember there being definite process to help with their break-in and ultimate longevity as well.

Go Here: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/

This is ScottyB's website, He is a sponsor here and helps answer a lot of peoples questions on this Forum.

He has good articles about breaking in and charging batteries. It is the standard that most people use on this forum, I used the advice on my current set of new batteries and it worked well.
