SR485 Controller upgrade programming ?'s
Waiting for my new 500A controller to get here. Purchased the 400 Amp Solenoid and the HD F/R Switch (Installed). And adding the 2 more batteries to complete my 48V conversion.
Is there much to change or make better on a series cart with the Alltrax motor programming. I am sticking with the stock motor for the time being. Any ideas or input is much appreciated. This will be my 1st go at it |

Re: SR485 Controller upgrade programming ?'s
The beauty of an Alltrax controller is that you can tailor your cart's performance to your preferences, limited by your cart's performance abilities of course.
Without knowing how your cart is setup, there is no way to answer your question and even if the setup was known the answer would be what do you want it to do. Sounds like you are going to be running a 8x6V battery pack, so it'll be heavy, so start with the throttle rate set to about 25% and tweak from there. Set KSI on voltage to 16V Set Battery and Motor volts to max. Set Battery and Motor amps to max. Set reverse speed to 50%. Set over volt to max. (62V) Set under volt to 38V Those are more or less the default settings, so it'll probably come that way. The trick is to find out how it runs and figure out what you want it to do, then you adjust what is needed to reach that goal, if it is reachable. |

if he or yourself orders one from CARTSUNLIMITED.NET and tell Scotty how you entind to use your cart (how its set up, i.e. wheel/tire size, you are in a hilly area or flat, use it on road or off road) then you can PnP the controller out of the box as he will set it up for you before he ships it to you.

Thanks for the input! Do you think with a stock TXT motor I will see a decent increase? With 48V and the solenoid, controller, heavy duty F/R?
I bought the F/R switch from carts unlimited ended up getting g the controller from EV Drives in Washington. |

Re: SR485 Controller upgrade programming ?'s
A series derive cart's speed and torque will increase by roughly 33% when the battery pack is upped from 36V to 48V.
Upping the stock 275A controller to 500A will increase the low end torque, but will have little, if any, increase in speed. Replacing the solenoid or F/R switch or cables, won't increase the speed, unless those components were in really bad shape. In a nutshell, only three things increase a series drive cart's speed. 1. Higher battery pack voltage. 2. Numerically lower final drive ratio. (Tire height and differential gears determine final drive ratio) 3. Motor. |
