Default 1984 DS want a little more speed and torque

I just purchased a 1984 DS and with a app on my phone it shows top speed is about 10-11 mph, I will use it on a hilly golf course and was looking for a little more top end and torque, but not sure the best way to go. It is a resistor/coil set up. Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm curious to this as well. Not sure if there's any way other than putting in a higher powered motor and larger gauge cable

My 2 cents is to bite the bullet and upgrade to the Alltrax controller. I did mine last year and it made a tremendous difference in both torque and speed. I did, however, choose the pricey route of the 500A controller, HD F/R, HD Solenoid, and 2ga cables. With these mods I'm ready to upgrade to 48V when the current batteries die, which will increase the speed even further.

A lot of the site sponsors monitor posts on here and are sure to chime in. Follow their guidance and you can't go wrong.

His cart is an 1984....pretty sure they only made the resistor coil carts back then. No controllers.

$$$
Convert to 48v
Batts, controller, FNR, at least #4 cables, 48 v solenoid
Go pedal controller input
Keep the 36v motor... good speed & tork on 48v

Absolutely need to go 48v. Those toaster parts need to go!

You need to convert to a solid state drive system like this

Is there a way other than converting ..idk abiut near your guys, but after the conversion kit and a set of 48v batts, it would be cheaper to just sell the 36v and buy a new used 48v cart

Thanks for all the suggestions and help. I just bought this cart and he has went through it pretty nicely, new batteries, battery cables, paint, new seat, and rims and tires. It looks pretty nice and would agree with reeseman44, but at the same time I really like the cart except would like a little more speed and torque but nothing as much as doing wheelies or climbing mountains. Is there a way without converting everything to 48 volt?
