Re: Loading Club Car in 3/4 ton Pickup
the 1000lb cheepy ramps from home centers/HF won't cut it. I have a 4x7' trailer that I brought my cart home on, the ramps didn't completely fail but the little angled parts at the top buckled quite a bit.
If it was me i would get the longest and widest ramps you can find. These aren't cheap but something like this https://www.discountramps.com/ez-riz.../p/MF2-EZ-ATV/ although at that price its cheaper to get a little 5x8 trailer I think. |

This is the best answer, maybe not most cost efficient, but best. Plus, you don't realize how much stuff you'll haul after buying a trailer or how you ever got a long without one before. I love my little 5x8 and use it all the time. Taken care of, they should last forever.

I use 2x8x8 pressure treated for ramps with the aluminum end brackets. They have pins to secure to the trailer when loading. Works great. |

Re: Loading Club Car in 3/4 ton Pickup
For years I've used 2x8s with ramp brackets and small but steep hill. The planks are almost flat this way.... I've got a pair of 9 ft. arched ramps and a tilt low bed. All methods work

Re: Loading Club Car in 3/4 ton Pickup
Yeah. The ramps are aluminum and if you look closely, you can see the ramps "telescope" to half their length. I can then just put 'em in the back seat for safekeeping. Plus, those ramps "hook" onto the end of the tailgate via a half moon type of set-up where the ramps slide in the side. Then there is no way those ramps can pop out or off the tailgate.

Re: Loading Club Car in 3/4 ton Pickup
Tailgates are meant to hold the load inside the bed. They aren't designed to be an extension of the cargo platform. Best to check the owner's manual or the dealership service department.
For comparison, the frame mounted class IV receiver hitch on my F250 is only rated for a 500lb tongue weight. It is made from 5/16" steel plates and 1/4" wall square tubing. The tailgate is held up with two pencil sized cables from studs mounted into sheet metal. |
