Electric clubcar Battery problem
I have a four battery electric club car precedent. The battery that has a positive lead to the controller heats up, buldges and loses its power/voltage. The other battery doest have the same problem. I replaced it with another brand new battery and it’s showing the same symptoms. I need help

I wouldn't think that is a battery problem as much as a connection problem. And when you say "Controller", are you meaning the solenoid (main contactor)? For only one battery to heat up and bulge, either the charge is unbalanced or the draw is unbalanced and that is usually a problem the cabling or connections.
First, I would check all my batteries and their connections. Remove all the cables, clean all the connections, inspect the cables, reinstall the cables, charge the pack and insure it fully charges (cuts off automatically), wait ~12 hours and see that the pack charge is at least 50.9 volts. If the problem persist after that, we need to probe deeper..... |
