Default golf cart brakes abruptly after pedal is released

I have an ‘06 club car precedent. It seems to work fine until I release the accelerator. After I’d do that the cart will brake and sometime sounds a backup alarm. Also when I put it in reverse the power will cut out and I have to release the pedal and then push it again to get power again To the cart.

Thanks for any help

Regent cart perhaps. And the regen level is set high. Can feel like brakes are applied when lifting off gas. Also check the front and rear switch and make sure your solenoid diode is not busted. I’d cart is in run mode and gas isn’t pressed but wheels are turning back up can sound alarm as a precaution.

Thanks. I checked the solenoid. I checked what looked like a resistor but it may be a diode. It didn’t look burnt. I checked the coil and was not getting continuity from them until they were energized. That is not right is it? Should the coil have continuity even without them being energized?

Yes, if you are referring to the two (2) small posts for the energizing coil.

Yes the 2 small post does not seem to have continuity until it is energized. So I am thinking, with the help on the forum, that it may be the solenoid that is going or is bad.
