Re: Club car brakes
I was a little curious about this too. I need to do brakes on my 2003 DS.
I'm under the impression it automatically adjusts back out when you hit the brakes. |

Re: Club car brakes
Just depress the brakes (normally, not violently) about a dozen times and they will notch themselves step-by-step back to correct adjustment.

Re: Club car brakes
Not to thread hijack, but I've read that some guys brake in reverse to help the adjuster. Is there any truth to this?

Re: Club car brakes
This nut must be adjusted and not just tightened down hard.
This adjustment takes up slack between the back plate and the slide mechanism where the auto adjuster and shoe tabs are attached. This area should be cleaned and re-greased with a caliper grease. Tighten nut to allow free sliding with minimal play. Too tight and it won't slide and the auto adjuster will not work correctly. #28 and #22, leave #16 alone. |

Re: Club car brakes
I normally move the adjuster a few clicks until there is slight drag on the drums then use the brake pedal to self adjust it the rest of the way
