Power Loss
Hey all,
Im new to this whole golf cart thing and its not my golf cart im posting about but its a buddies. well we were messing around with his yamaha gas golf cart in the woods and we saw some mud. so being ourselves we hit it made it about 4 feet and then got stuck. having the golf cart floored for about a minute the wheels were spinning and everything then all of a sudden it just lost power. so after getting it out and back up to the house it still has no power at all. it runs but if you have the pedal down all the way the cart will barely move. we checked the intake and filter and they were dry (we suspected it sucked up water). really the engine is spinning slow and the belt is not turning at all because of the lack of power. does anybody have any ideas of what i could look at or how to fix this?? thanks happy holidays to all Alex |

Re: Power Loss
With the key and engine off .... Is your gas peddle opening the carberator all of the way? Take a hold of the linkage at the carb and see if it will move more than what the peddle is doing to it.....

Re: Power Loss
hey i checked all that out and all the linkage is good it opens good in the carb when you step on the gas and everything. but i did take the air cleaner tube off and turned the cart on and noticed it spitting alot of gas out of the carb. and after a few minutes of that it smells flooded. does anybody know what could be the problem.
alex thanks |

Re: Power Loss
im not too sure i took the cover off and the one that is not moving looks the same as the one that is. so i dont know if it is suppose to look any different. i pushed on it where the spring is and it moves by hand just not when the engine trys to move it.
